Chief Officer – Regional Growth and Infrastructure
Armidale Regional Council is seeking a visionary and values-driven leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Chief Officer – Regional Growth and Infrastructure (RGI).
This is a rare opportunity to lead the delivery of landmark projects that will define the future of our region – from securing long-term water security and treatment capacity, to enabling growth through transformative infrastructure initiatives.
About the role
As Chief Officer – RGI, you will:
Lead a newly established division created to capture, develop, and deliver the region-building initiatives essential to sustainable growth.
Drive delivery of complex, multi-million-dollar projects, including water security, sewer treatment, transport, and other critical regional infrastructure.
Provide executive-level leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
Build and nurture a high-performing team of professionals, contractors, and consultants in a collaborative, agile environment.
Represent Council as a key leader in shaping the New England Renewable Energy Zone and broader growth agenda.
About you
You are a highly experienced project leader and engineer, with:
Demonstrated success in delivering complex, high-value infrastructure projects.
Strong technical expertise in engineering and project management, underpinned by formal qualifications.
Proven ability to navigate government, regulatory, and stakeholder environments with confidence.
A values-based leadership style that builds trust, empowers teams, and creates a culture of accountability and innovation.
The strategic vision to see the big picture and the resilience to deliver in a complex, high-stakes environment.
