We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our team based in the Brisbane Support Office.
The successful candidate will provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility and support the project team with progress reporting, including schedule updates, forecast to complete, resource leveling and demand; variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and interpret schedules using Primavera and MS Office programmes.
* Provide project control reporting, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.
* Advise and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls (earned value, cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, critical path analysis).
* Support program integration, plan optimization and project scheduling best practices.
* Ensure that the planning and scheduling for projects adhere to company standards and contract obligations.
* Support and advise on the definition of project planning and earned value management processes, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
* Support the development of integrated master schedules for specific programs in Primavera and/or Microsoft Project that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractor's schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule.
* Ensure weekly/monthly reports are in line with the project and company's reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
* Ensure that project control processes are consistently applied across the project.
* Identify opportunities of improved schedules.
* Manage governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across integrated programs managed across multiple subcontractors and suppliers.
* Support the development of requirements for specific resource-loaded schedules.
* Monitor and report against KPI's and analyze variances and make recommendations to maintain targets.
* Attendance and input into construction, testing, completions, program, commercial meetings and workshops.
* Monitor, manage and report scope variance and delays, and holding meetings relating to progress.
* Work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor to maximize the potential of the project.
* Provide innovative solutions to reporting and build data bases and documents for use inside and outside the project.
Requirements:
* A tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant discipline.
* Ideal 2+ years experience in project planning within a construction environment.
* Proficient user of relevant tools such as Primavera, Bentley Synchro and Microsoft Project.
* Practicable ability to utilize critical project management concepts such as risk analysis, configuration management and earned value management.
