**About this Position**:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on environmental health and public health within our community? Lismore City Council is seeking a dedicated **Regulatory Services Officer** to join our Shared Services - Operational Compliance team. Reporting to the Regulatory Services Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering expert advice and driving initiatives that align with our strategic vision, fostering a safe and sustainable environment for our residents. In this role you will be responsible for delivering a high level of service to Council and the community in the provision of specialist advice in Environmental and Public Health functions.

**What we trust you to deliver**:
- Assist Council in developing and complying with best practice environmental management strategies - Knowledge of Environmental & Public Health legislation, policies and best practice guidelines and the ability to investigate and administer alleged breaches of relevant legislation
- Deliver reporting requirements to satisfy adopted workplans and statutory deadlines - Ability to provide comprehensive written reports, prepare technical advice and recommendations regarding Environmental Health & Public matters
- Provide advice to internal and external customers on Environmental Health and Public Health matters and promote a pro-active approach to environmental and public health promotion
- Participate in and develop a teamwork approach to ensure quality service outputs and team harmony and drive a customer service approach in all internal and external interactions - Demonstrate accountable, affiliative and constructive behaviours in all interactions
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of Environmental Health and Public Health policy and procedures - Have a drive for improvement
**What you will need to be successful**:
- Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or equivalent together with relevant work experience
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Environmental Health
- Membership of an appropriate professional institute
- WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Current Drivers Licence

**Full Time**:70 hours per fortnight
**Salary**: From $86,668 per annum plus superannuation.

**Conditions of Employment**:**Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
**Pre-employment Screening**: Prior to employment, there will be a series of pre-employment checks that may include, health assessments, validation of right to work in Australia, validation of qualifications and licences, criminal history checks, psychometric assessments and referee checks.
**Immunisation Program**
Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee's health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant's responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
