About this role
The hotel has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and trade-qualified Culinary Specialist, reporting to the Head Chef. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a kitchen environment and possess a 'can-do' attitude. We are searching for someone passionate about cooking honest, family-friendly food and contemporary dishes.
Flexible and reliable to work over a 7-day roster. This full-time role is available for 38 hours per week.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of food quality
* Maintain a strong knowledge and passion for food and culinary trends
* Observation of and implementation of allergy awareness controls
* Adhering to all relevant health and safety and food safety standards
* Tightly monitor costs with special regard to portion control, waste minimization, and stock control
* Maintain a premium and consistent approach to all levels of food and service delivery
About you

* Team player and able to work autonomously and under pressure
* Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery (preferred)
* Prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen
* Modern, contemporary, and innovative culinary skills
* Be motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
* Solid knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, technique, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (suppliers, customers, employees, and management)
* Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a calm and methodical manner
* Minimum 3 years experience as Commi Chef
