The Role
This is a full-time Associate / Senior Civil Engineer role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. The role is suited to an experienced engineer who is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, enjoys direct client engagement, and is considering their next step in responsibility rather than simply a title change.
The position involves leading and delivering civil engineering design across complex building and urban projects, including stormwater management, site levels and grading, authority coordination and construction phase support. You will work closely with architects, landscape architects and project managers, and play an active role in mentoring junior engineers and shaping project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver civil engineering design packages for building and urban development projects
* Prepare and review stormwater management plans, drainage designs, levels and grading documentation
* Coordinate directly with local councils, Melbourne Water and other referral authorities
* Work closely with architects and landscape architects to resolve integrated design outcomes
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
* Contribute to project planning, resourcing and delivery across multiple workstreams
* Support construction phase services and respond to RFIs as required
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
* Typically 7+ years' experience in civil engineering design and delivery within the Australian consulting environment
* Strong background in stormwater management and civil design for building or urban projects
* Comfortable engaging directly with clients, consultants and authorities
* Solid understanding of Australian standards, guidelines and approval processes
* Chartered (CPEng / RPEV) or working toward accreditation preferred
* Proficient in relevant civil engineering design software
