**About the role**

As the Group Manager Quality Engineering - You will support as necessary the technical direction and aspects of quality engineering across the projects, programs, and agile squads.

**Your **key responsibilities will include**:

- Work collaboratively with architecture and product teams to define and own the Quality Engineering strategy and roadmap
- Support multiple engagements / project delivery requirements for quality engineering
- Support business cases for responsible projects / programs of work
- Augment team with required quality engineering capability to support project delivery
- Empower product teams to own solutions and solve problems to drive speed to market
- Contribute as a senior member of a highly capable, passionate, and motivated leadership team
- Ensuring governance, compliance, data quality, metrics, completeness, and accuracy of metadata, are integral to the capability.
- Defining, baselining and operationalisation of key metrics.
- Keep up to date with industry trends in quality engineering, including cloud, latest architecture & designs for quality engineering platforms and artificial intelligence.
- Provide capability development pathways and training mechanisms for the quality analyst and quality engineering cohort.
- Define quality engineering standards and promote their adoption
- Promote agile engineering practices
- Ensure engineering quality through early engagement with projects and programs
- Ensure cross functional requirements are met
- Promote simple, clean, and evolutionary test architecture
- Support continuous improvements initiatives, capture technical debt
- Support and guidance around pragmatic engineering approaches, and promote team collaboration and engagement in achieving alignment
- Drive initiatives and contribute to the technology and engineering roadmap and strategy for the products/assets the squads are building
- You will promote agile methodologies and continuous improvements while coaching and supporting your leaders
- You will promote quality engineering delivery roadmaps that are structured based on actual business requirements, communicate, and share plans with key stakeholders
- You will help support the systems of work for your squads, agile ceremonies
- You will help support key external dependencies that impact teams' ability to consistently deliver value in small increments
- Ensure teams are driving quality outcomes
- Promote and support the team to become autonomous in their delivery practices

**About you & your skills**

You are an experienced and proven people leader with excellent interpersonal & leadership skills alongside analytical & problem-solving skills along with
- At least 10 years senior or managerial IT experience, as a Quality Engineering Manager of digital products in an agile environment, with experience delivering large programs of work, including operation support.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing technical solutions in large scale, complex and distributed environments.
- Advanced understanding of all aspects of the technology's broader operational environment (i.e. processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems, etc.).
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, products, and services in a hybrid cloud environment, with a technical background.
- A proven track record in people management and experience in building and leading large teams 50+ in size
- Proven capabilities in vendor, partner and stakeholder relationship management including the negotiation and management of outsource agreements and delivery to agreed service levels.
- Demonstrated success in enabling the launch of high quality and business critical products, in a complex enterprise production environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and persuade outcomes / direction
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Experience managing relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
