This role is part of a joint venture aiming to build a 4.5-GW transmission network across Central-West Orana, supporting the growth of wind and solar projects.
This role will be based in our Merotherie Office on a 14/7 bus schedule and roster.
The position is within the Safety Advisor team, focusing on Transmission Lines and Substation (Energy Hub) Construction for the joint venture between ACCIONA, COBRA, and Endeavour Energy.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and mentoring project personnel on safety systems and best practices.
Identify, monitor and report any emerging risks to the project team.
Work with the Safety and Training departments to identify and develop training.
Assist in incident investigations.
Assist in site communications such as Pre-Start, Toolbox talks.
Regularly review onsite practices against the project risk register and management plans.
Identify all potential and imminent hazards on a site and address them proactively with project field leadership.
Actively participate in and drive a culture of collaboration, discipline, innovation, adaptation to change and care.
Assist in regular risk activity workshops, providing expert and practical input.
Ensure safety and sustainability are front of mind for all personnel.
Lead by example by promoting a positive work health and safety culture.
Conduct inspections, risk activity reviews and observations as per project requirements, coaching inspection processes to field leadership.
Criteria for Selection
Cert IV or Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
(Mandatory)
Post Graduate Degree in Safety or any associated tertiary degree such as Human Resources, Quality, Environment or Project Management.
(Desirable)
Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
Experience as a Safety Practitioner in Transmission Lines, Substations, Civil Earthworks, and high-risk environments.
Electrical experience and/or qualifications.
