Salaire pro rata: $102,067 to $108,107 per annum plus superannuation. 2x part‐time, permanent positions.
The Opportunity
Become a Community Health Officer at the City of Perth and help keep Perth safe and thriving. In this frontline role, you'll administer key public health, food safety and environmental legislation, supporting the City of Perth in maintaining high community health standards. You'll conduct inspections, approvals and compliance activities, while providing guidance to local businesses and the community.
Responsibilities
* Providing professional technical advice to the community and stakeholders on a wide range of public and environmental health issues.
* Educating, implementing, monitoring and enforcing requirements under the Public Health Act, Food Act, Environmental Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
* Assessing technical reports and development/building applications to ensure compliance with legislation, local laws and environmental health standards.
* Conducting inspections, investigations and monitoring activities across food safety, water quality, noise, pests, environmental health risks and public events.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Environmental Health Officer within local government, with an Environment Health qualification and strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Local Government Act, Food Act, Environmental Protection Act, Public Health Act and local laws).
* Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
* Strong stakeholder management and customer service capability, supported by well‐developed report writing skills.
* Effective research, analytical, problem‐solving and time‐management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve outcomes.
Eligibility
* A right to work in Australia (e.g., a birth certificate, current passport or current visa).
* A current 'C' class Australian driver's licence.
* A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).
