Be the face of The Barrington Coast
Love being out and about, meeting people, and showcasing a place you're proud of? This could be your kind of role.
We're looking for a Destination Experience Officer who enjoys a mix of hands-on work, customer service, and relationship-building. One day you might be setting up a pop-up visitor stand at a local event, the next you could be chatting with tourism operators, helping visitors plan their stay, or updating information behind the scenes.
Based in Forster, this is a mobile, full-time role that takes you right across The Barrington Coast, from our Visitor Information Centres to events, festivals, and community spaces.
What you'll be doing
* Setting up, packing down, and running mobile and pop-up visitor information displays
* Being a friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact for visitors - face-to-face, over the phone, and online
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and tourism operators
* Supporting campaigns, events, and promotions that showcase the best of our region
* Keeping information up to date using Teams, spreadsheets, Word and internal systems
* Representing The Barrington Coast with energy and professionalism
What we're looking for
* Someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves
* A confident, approachable communicator who loves talking to people
* Genuine interest in the local area and a passion for tourism and visitor experiences
* Strong organisation and admin skills - you're comfortable juggling tasks and keeping things tidy behind the scenes
* Willingness to travel across the region, with flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings
* A team player who can also work independently and adapt on the fly
If you like working with people, being out in the community, and having fun while making a genuine contribution - consider joining our Destination Experience Team
Salary: Commencing salary $65,918 p.a. plus superannuation.
Location: This is a mobile position across multiple locations on the Barrington Coast. You will also work from a range of Council sites, including our Forster and Gloucester Visitor Information Centres.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
Closing date: 25 January 2025 at 11.30 pm.
