The opportunity
We're looking for an Associate to join our Group Insurance team in Melbourne. As an Associate, you'll play an essential role in supporting our group insurance clients by assessing their needs, guiding them through available insurance options, and helping to secure the best policies for their protection. Working closely with experienced brokers, you'll gain hands-on experience in evaluating risk, handling client inquiries, preparing quotes, processing applications and engaging with the wider insurance market.
Responsibilities will include:
* Work closely with senior brokers to assist with the end-to-end management of group insurance programs including the onboarding of new clients and renewal of existing clients
* Interact with insurance partners and key group insurance program stakeholders
* Timely and accurate production of quotes, reports and other policy documentation
* Seamless communication between clients, insurers and team members
Let's talk about you
To thrive as an Associate of Howden, you'll need a blend of interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a perfect role for someone who has just started out in their insurance broking career but looking for the right home with a defined career path.
As an Associate you will:
* Have 1 to 3 years broking experience in/across a range of insurance products, namely property and liability
* Have clear and professional communication skills both written and verbal to effectively engage with clients, insurers, and team members.
* Be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and documentation, keeping everything well-organised in a fast-paced environment.
* Have intermediate MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Have high attention to detail and have the ability to minimise errors and create efficiencies in existing processes.
* Be eager to learn, take on new challenges and absorb technical industry knowledge, regulations, and trends.
