Overview

Senior Project Engineer (Substations) to join GenusPlus Group for the NWTD project in Tasmania. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary and an immediate start available.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Engineer within our Substation team, you will prepare, manage and monitor the engineering aspects of the project to achieve team and project goals. You\'ll provide technical leadership across design, procurement, delivery support, and quality assurance, working closely with internal stakeholders and the client to ensure outcomes are delivered safely, compliantly, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

* Interpret and apply client scope of works, technical specifications, and project documentation.
* Lead engineering design and procurement activities in line with Australian/International Standards.
* Provide high-level technical guidance to the project team, including resolving technical queries and driving practical solutions.
* Prepare and review work packs including MDRs, ITPs, drawings, ITRs, JSAs and SWMS.
* Support project controls by monitoring quality, budget, schedule, and performance, and reporting on project status.
* Conduct/coordinate QA/QC activities and inspections, including establishing test/inspection methods and quality monitoring frameworks.
* Maintain red-line mark-ups and records for As-Built documentation.
* Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and a solutions-focused approach.

Skills & Experience Required

* Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Civil / Structural / Mechanical).
* Minimum 5 years\' experience in Engineering and/or Project Management (ideally within substations, utilities, or major infrastructure).
* Strong knowledge of Australian industry regulations, standards, best practice, and performance requirements.
* Proven ability to interpret scope documentation and engineering drawings; familiarity with drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
* Advanced computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Project/Primavera.
* High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
* Strong communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders and clients.
* Valid C-Class driver\'s licence, White Card, and current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).

Desirable

* Qualification in Operations or Project Management.
* Experience in utilities, resources, construction, or a professional engineering firm environment.
* Field management experience.
