Overview
Department of Education WA – Australind WA is recruiting a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed‐term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies during the 2026 school year up to the end of Term 2, 2027. The role will assist teaching staff in delivering planned education programmes and promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Provide feedback on education and therapy programmes and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress.
* Assist with the general health and wellbeing of students.
Qualifications
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Valid Working With Children Check.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.
* Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers.
* Working knowledge of evidence‐based techniques for learning and behaviour.
* Experience or knowledge of disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder.
