Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing financial reports and tax returns for trusts, companies, partnerships and sole traders
* Managing SMSFs with extensive investment portfolios
* Exposure to consolidated groups
* Developing tailored tax planning strategies covering dividends, trust distributions, beneficiary accounts, unit acquisitions and remissions, superannuation contributions, and pension withdrawals
* Handling CGT, FBT, and Div. 7A calculations
* Preparing Fringe Benefits Tax returns
* Advising on foreign exchange and small business exemptions
* Mentoring and assisting junior team members when needed
* Liaising with the ATO to resolve compliance matters
Skills & Attributes:
* A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a reputable Australian accounting firm
* Strong background working with SMSFs, trusts, companies, and group structures
* Familiarity with BGL and APS software (advantageous, but not essential) - the firm will be transitioning to Xero
* Excellent communication, both written and verbal
* High attention to detail with a strong understanding and application of Australian Tax
* Must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency
