Job Summary A unique and rewarding opportunity is now available for an accomplished Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to contribute to the development and delivery of USQ’s new offerings in Sport and Exercise. In particular, you will:
* Develop and deliver specific courses Sport and Exercise in particular, biomechanics;
* Contribute to other courses within the program such as functional anatomy, physical activity and health, strength and conditioning, sports medicine and/or rehabilitation;
* Act as course examiner and/or undertake program coordinator duties whilst providing support and direction to other academic employees;
* Contribute to the establishment and ongoing development of Sport and Exercise such as clinical exercise physiology;
* Engage with industry and professional bodies to ensure ongoing relevance of awards, access to suitable student experiences and facilitation of partnerships in applied research.
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching effort of the School and play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities. Required Skills Your demonstrated teaching excellence, combined with your passion for biomechanics and functional anatomy, will be pivotal to your success in this role. In addition, you will have:
* A Doctoral degree in a relevant specialty area such as biomechanics;
* A demonstrated ability to contribute more broadly across the Sport and Exercise discipline;
* An ability to lead community and professional development initiatives relevant to Sport and Exercise;
* A record of research engagement and publication outputs in Biomechanics as well as a focused research plan and potential to engage in team based research;
* As a Senior Lecturer, you will also have demonstrated experience in course and program leadership, development and delivery.
Professional membership with a relevant association, for example Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA), will also be highly regarded.
