About the Role
This CAD Drafter role reports to the CAD Team Lead and provides drafting support to the Engineering team on energy and renewable projects, primarily on substations and BESS facilities. The role involves producing clear and accurate 2D and 3D drawings, including layouts, schematics, and material lists across civil, structural, and building work. It also supports efficient project delivery and the team's use of digital tools.
Responsibilities include:
* Work with engineers and stakeholders to produce clear drawings across civil, structural, and building work, including layouts, details, and BOMs
* Turn technical inputs and mark-ups into accurate, buildable drawings
* Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with codes and standards
* Identify missing information, clashes, and constructability issues within drawings
* Keep drawings up to date with design changes and support CAD systems and processes
* Mentor and share structural detailing knowledge with other members of the drafting team
About You
The ideal candidate for this role is a practical, detail-focused drafter with strong experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing, who can produce clear, buildable drawings. You will be comfortable using and improving digital tools and are open to new ways of working that make projects run more smoothly.
Other skills and experience include:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in civil or structural drafting
* At least 2 years' experience on utility or large-scale infrastructure projects
* Strong capability in structural steel detailing (connections, baseplates, anchor bolts, bracing, member schedules) and reinforced concrete footing design and detailing (pad footings, strip footings, pile caps, slabs-on ground)
* Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar), with Revit an advantage
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
