About headspace headspace are a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families. About the Opportunity The Chair will provide independent leadership to the headspace Darwin and headspace Palmerston Consortium, which offers strategic direction and support to the two centres. The Consortium comprises representatives from youth, mental health, and health-related services across Darwin and Palmerston, meeting face-to-face to guide service delivery. The Chair is appointed for one year, with the possibility of extension, and may serve a maximum of three consecutive years. To be successful in this role you will have: A thorough understanding or, experience in and passion for youth mental health Certificate IV in Mental Health or a related field, or a willingness to complete one. An understanding of the Northern Territory mental health system and issues faced by young people experiencing mental health concerns and their families. Advanced minute taking and report writing (including word processing) skills. Demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal, culturally and linguistically diverse, and LGBTQIA young people, families, communities, staff and Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisations.
