About Us
The SDRCWS group is responsible for coordinating the justice and social service systems to ensure they work effectively together and account for the specific needs of the community. This includes driving reforms in family violence, mental health, the National Disability Insurance Scheme and workplace safety. The group is also responsible for a whole-of-department strategic approach to stakeholder partnerships and the delivery of our inclusion and intersectionality agenda, and the Strategic Communication Branch which provides a professional in-house communication service to promote and protect the department's reputation by developing and delivering key messages through appropriate channels.
About the Role
The Business Support Officer will provide administrative, corporate and business support in the Office of the Deputy Secretary (ODS). This includes the management of correspondence, leading corporate and business support projects and various internal financial, human resources, and data and performance reporting processes.
This role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, work collaboratively with stakeholders and deliver effective and timely actions. Information and record management, monitoring and reporting will also be a focus of this role.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Support the effective operations and functions of the ODS ensuring business needs are met and high-quality administrative services are provided.
- Provide general support services, including human resources, finance and office management activities to ensure effective functioning of the ODS.
- Assess and prioritise a high volume of briefs and correspondence and take appropriate follow up action.
- Proofread and process briefs and correspondence in an accurate and timely manner.
About You
- Sound knowledge of Victorian government administrative processes.
- Experience in the provision of corporate support services to senior management.
- Developed organisational skills with the capacity to meet timelines, attention to detail, cooperative working approach within a team environment and able to balance competing priorities.
