About the Opportunity
The Senior Quality Assurance Advisor, under the direction of the Quality Manager will ensure products and services meet the required regulatory and quality standards for a business unit or site. The role is responsible for supporting the Operations team to deliver business quality requirements through practical quality controls. The Senior Quality Assurance Advisor will provide guidance to other Quality resources across a business unit or site, ensuring that quality assurance and inspection activities are undertaken in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Quality organisation.

What's Involved
* Develop strategies for the purpose of maintaining and improving Quality Assurance activities across the business unit or site consistent with the objectives of the wider Quality organisation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality-related issues.
* Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure their adherence to quality standards and specifications.
* Manage internal and external quality audits for business unit or site as required in accordance with the system schedule.
* Maintain and manage current procedures and quality documentation to support business operation.
* Maintain and monitor the business systems used for documenting non-conformance.
* Lead root cause analysis efforts for quality incidents and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
* Conduct OQE audits of records / documentation developed during business wide inspection and test related activities.
* Support and assist Foremen, Project Managers and Line Management to undertake quality investigations.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to quality assurance resources for the business unit or site, supporting their growth and development.
You'll Need
Essential
* Diploma or recognised equivalency certification in Quality Assurance, Lean Management, Engineering or Project Management.
* Familiarity with Class and Regulatory Requirements; ISO 9001 standard
* Previous industry experience working in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role.
* Well-developed planning and organisational skills
* Good communication skills in both written and spoken format
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable
* Quality Management experience
* Auditor
* Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001, and of working within Quality Management systems as they apply to shipbuilding, defence, and/or other manufacturing
* Previous Defence / Commercial maritime experience
* Production Trade experience or Maintenance Operations – marine / ship repair related
* Conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills
