Your expertise will be pivotal in enabling the efficient processing and analysis of large data sets, driving insights that inform our strategic decisions.In this collaborative role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and analysts to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality financial services. This role also requires knowledge of data security and privacy regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and develop our ETL/ELT processes, data modelling and data integration into our modern Microsoft Fabric platform.Work with data visualisation tools daily such as Power BI.Develop and optimize data pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver comprehensive data solutions.Monitor and maintain data integrity and quality, implementing best practices for data security and privacy in compliance with regulatory standards.Contribute to the development of analytics tools that provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data engineering technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our data systems.In a rapidly fast changing landscape, you are passionate about staying at the forefront of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data.Did we mention AI?You understand best practice coding principles and apply your knowledge to participate in code reviews and embrace a culture of quality assurance. You take pride in your work.Expected Qualifications & ExperienceApplicants must be living and working in Australia at this time.- Demonstrated skills in SQL, Python, and other languages- Understanding of business systems such as CRMs & Telephony- Experience with cloud-based data technology stacks, particularly in Azure—including Microsoft Fabric—and a strong understanding of best practices for data security- Ability to build and maintain technical documentation and version control using tools such as Confluence and CI/CD- Ability to capture business requirements and transform them into results- Your knowledge of database systems and SQL empowers you to design and optimise data-driven applications / warehouses that are secure and robust.- Natural problem solver, relishing the challenge of analysing and debugging software issues with tenacity and resourcefulness.- Good communicator and collaborator, excelling in both written and verbal communication to drive effective teamwork and alignment.- You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, data, business information systems or a related field (or equivalent experience), demonstrating your commitment to excellence in the field.- Experience in financial/payment exchange contexts a big plus- A passion for broader business success!- A hunger for learning and in particular in the field of applying AI to dataJoining Send Payments as a Data Engineer, I bring passion, technical expertise, and a drive for innovation.
