Primary objective
As a senior member of the school management team, the Senior Teacher is required to provide educational leadership through
Professional Development and coaching of all Staff in whole school approaches including University of Florida – Literacy Institute
foundation, Meaningful Maths and Formative Assessment. The senior teacher will coach staff and oversee the implementation of
whole school approaches to English and Mathematics and embed Formative Assessment in classrooms.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake an appropriate teaching load.
2. Lead, model and assess the development and implementation of effective and innovative educational programs to meet the
needs of students and promote a collaborative school climate.
3. Support students through interaction in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning
environments and effective behaviour management practices.
4. Contribute appropriately as a member of the school's leadership team and assist the Principal with supervision of staff, including
professional growth, professional development and whole school planning.
5. Provide educational leadership to teachers relating to effective teaching practices focussed on target setting, learning intentions
and instructional feedback that creates assessment capable students.
6. Use Xuno to collect, store and analyse data.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with school staff, parents and members of the local school
community in order to establish and develop productive partnerships, in an intercultural environment to achieve optimal
educational outcomes.
1. Demonstrated teaching experience and educational leadership in the area of curriculum development and a thorough
understanding of evidence-based practices aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
1. Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing and facilitating professional development programs for staff and / or
community.
1. Demonstrated educational leadership in the area of effective teaching strategies that lead to assessment capable students.
2. Demonstrated high level organisational and communication skills to promote a positive and harmonious working environment
for team members within the primary setting.
6. Demonstrated skills in the use of Xuno as a tool to collect and analyse data.
