The Communication Officer is responsible for developing strategic communications plans to inform and guide the business on the best way to reach and inform our community, as well as our internal staff, on matters of importance. The role covers all channels including social media, intranet, website, media releases and more.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other Communications vacancies.
Key activities of this role include:
5. Provide specialist advice to stakeholders on all communication issues affecting CCC and supporting implementation of staff engagement initiatives undertaken across Council
6. Plan and implement annual communication campaigns, including the coordination of one or more communication channels whilst working within a reputation management framework
7. Accurately plan, prepare and construct a wide range of CCC material including newspaper columns, media statements, display advertisements, brochures, fact sheets, briefing notes, speech notes, and undertake digital communication activities such as uploading eNews, social media, website and intranet copy.
About You:
8. Ideally Degree qualified in Communications, Media, Marketing or related field, you have solid contemporary experience in a similar role in a large and complex organisation with a high public profile;
9. You have experience across the full range of communications channels, and bring a strategic and innovative approach which ensures your solutions deliver on business objectives;
10. Your stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and negotiate effectively are key strengths;
11. You enjoy being able to brainstorm in a supportive and creative team, but can deliver results autonomously as required;
12. You don't mind if the heat is turned up and can manage your time effectively under pressure.
