Disability Support Worker
Bundaberg and Wide Bay Burnett QLD is home to a unique opportunity for an experienced support worker to join our team in providing 1:1 SIL (Supported Independent Living) and community care for a young man with complex needs, living in his own home.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to assist this client in achieving their goals by developing important daily skills, such as general housekeeping duties, personal care, interaction/social skills, and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the client in planning and cooking meals, facilitating connections within the community, going on outings, and socialising with peers.
* Accompany the client to appointments and sport commitments.
* Be a positive role model in teaching/supporting the client to reach their goals of living independently as an adult.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Experience in supporting individuals with behavioural issues, including Down Syndrome and Autism.
* Able to work and communicate effectively with other staff members.
* High level of physical fitness.
* Valid Driver's Licence (preferably over 25 years old with a clean driving history).
* 100 points ID.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Possess a minimum of six months of relevant experience.
* First Aid Certificate and Medication Accreditation (optional but desirable).

Working Conditions
This role involves working variable shifts, including overnight sleepover shifts for SIL. You will need to be willing to cover shifts when possible.
