As Manager Community Development, you provide effective leadership, advice and guidance to a dedicated team of professionals delivering high-quality community engagement and reform services across a range of complex, multi-faced projects. This includes providing strategic advice to internal and external stakeholders and support communities to be empowered through more effective public investment through programs like the Barkly Regional Deal.
Your key responsibilities will include undertaking high-level engagement, liaison and negotiation with senior officers, community members, government agencies and service providers. You will undertake research of local data and information to identify emerging local issues, track outcomes from public investment, and provide high-level advice to management on the resolution of complex issues.
To excel in this role, you require demonstrated knowledge and experience in areas of strategic policy development and implementation, a sound understanding of Government processes, including the preparation of detailed briefings and proposals, program implementation and evaluation, and experience in regional and remote community development.
Additionally, highly developed written and oral communication skills, the ability to research, analyse and develop evidence-based concepts and solutions is crucial. As is the ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and undertake remote travel by vehicle or light plane for extended periods.
