THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Site Manager Port Gregory, the Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical and mobile activities, shutdown works and weekly maintenance plans and schedules.
This will include overseeing the planning and scheduling of maintenance works at Geraldton Dry plant and the Port Gregory.
They will oversee all assigned capital project work as per budget assignment.
The position will manage the Reliability Engineering function to optimize the equipment maintenance strategy in the CMMS (currently MEX).
The position will oversee, and lead planning and scheduling activities associated with shutdown works and weekly maintenance activities.
They will be accountable for achieving leading and lagging KPI's as per the Business Plan and MAUS Production plan.
They will actively develop budgets for and review costs for all Maintenance R&M and assigned CAPEX.
From a reliability perspective, the position is accountable for monitoring equipment health at Port Gregory processing plant and mobile fleet as well as the Dry plant process plant and mobile fleet.
This is managed through the analysis and investigation of relevant data in the computerised maintenance management system (MEX), reporting areas of concern, and where applicable, advising preventable measures and documenting actions plans to mitigate unscheduled machine downtime and/or machine failures.
As the leader for the Warehouse officer, they have accountability around optimum spares holdings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
Lead and manage the site maintenance teams, driving performance, safety, and team development.Oversee maintenance planning and execution—short-term schedules and long-term strategies, including shutdowns.Ensure asset reliability through preventative and predictive maintenance (oil, vibration, thermography, etc.
).Act as SME for the MEX maintenance system, ensuring data accuracy, reporting, and team training.Monitor equipment performance, identify risks, and implement improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.Manage maintenance budgets, KPI tracking, and critical spares inventory.Support and sponsor capital projects, ensuring alignment with best-practice project frameworks.SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mechanical or Electrical Trade BackgroundEngineering Degree is desirable.SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar roleKnowledge and expertise of scheduling practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to maintenance planning and executionMust be highly motivated with a proven record of safety, good work ethic and a team playerSubstantial knowledge and experience utilising computer programs including Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to Work effectively with team/work groups or those outside formal line of authority (i.e.
