In this role, you will be developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating media, marketing, community engagement and corporate communication plans and strategies; and monitor the organisational and media environment to advise key staff and stakeholders of emerging issues that may have the potential to impact Council, including community sentiment and crisis management. You will also compete tasks such as: identifying key issues, conducting research, and preparing marketing and communication materials which positively reflect Council's service to the public; leading and coordinating the activities of staff within the Communications and Engagement Team, including reporting and evaluating tourism marketing activities; and many more
Term:Permanent, Full-time
Hours of Work: hours per fortnight
Pay Level:$4,127.83 to $4,359.89 per fortnight (Level 7), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Department
The Strategy, Growth & Stakeholder Engagement Department works collaboratively with industry, business groups and the broader community to support long term prosperity for the Southern Downs region. It is a multi-disciplinary Department that includes research and advocacy, community engagement, economic development, grant acquisition, communication and marketing, and festivals and events.

* Provide high-level, accurate, timely and strategic corporate communications and engagement advice, and support to the Director and Chief Executive Officer;
* Identify and create media opportunities and ensure Council is well-represented in all forms of media;
* Coordinate, monitor and review production or print and digital content across all Council Departments; and
* Facilitate the development and ongoing continuous improvement of Council's public image.
What You Will Need
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* The legal right to live and work in Australia
* REQUIRED LICENCES & QUALIFICATIONS
* A Class C (Car) licence or greater; and
* A person in this role will need to have a relevant tertiary qualification(s) of at least degree-level.
* Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in communications and media in a corporate environment
* Experience in managing crisis media situations
* High-level experience in current computer software and safety considerations relevant to the area, and proven ability to limit risks in this type of environment
* Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective partnerships with internal and external customers and contractors
* Demonstrated effective leadership skills with the ability to lead a small team to prioritise and manage time effectively to achieve outcomes within tight timeframes
* To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
