As a Prudential Risk Analyst for Banking in our Sydney office, you will undertake high quality financial and non-financial risk analysis of entities, confidently engage stakeholders, and effectively support the Manager in executing the team's supervision strategy.
The team
The General Insurance and Banking Division is responsible for the supervision of all general insurers and banks. The Division supports APRA's core function through prudential supervision and risk assessment and response activities to support APRA's objective of providing a prudentially sound financial system.
Key responsibilities
* Identify prudential risks and raise concerns before they manifest
* Undertake financial and non-financial analysis and apply knowledge of APRA's prudential standards and guidance to support analysis and risk assessments
* Engage and collaborate with teams across APRA, including specialists, supervisors, and policy advisors, as needed to address supervisory issues
* Produce succinct, accurate and timely briefings and documents for management
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and industry developments that may impact supervised entities and/or APRA's supervision approach
* Maintain an understanding of the banking industry and its risks

* Up-to-date with financial market trends and legislative environment
* Experience across analysis environments
* Excellent organisational and self-management skills
* Sound financial analysis, investigative and research skills
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
* A positive mindset and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
