Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at a leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing facility in Port Melbourne. This role involves working on precision mechanical systems, assemblies, and components to support production and maintenance operations.
Day shift: Monday to Friday.
Roster: Approximately 4 weeks on day shift, followed by 1 week on afternoon shift (rotating cycle).
Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, and maintenance tasks on aerospace components and systems.
* Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Conduct inspections, measurements, and testing to verify quality standards.
* Operate and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
* Adhere to workplace safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (or equivalent qualification).
* Demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing industries.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
