The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
About the Opportunity
In this position, you will lead the development and implementation of effective health and safety standards across VHBA. This will involve implementation of best practices, and reporting across VHBA's major infrastructure projects to providing strategic guidance on risk management, incident investigations, and emergency responses.
Key aspects of the role include:
* Undertaking regular safety monitoring to ensure compliance with safety management systems, contractual obligations, applicable legislation, and organisational requirements.
* Collaborating proactively with project delivery contractors to develop and implement modern contractor and risk management strategies.
* Conducting regular strategic analysis of safety trends, issues, and incidents, delivering insights, reports, and actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
We are looking for:
* Extensive demonstrated experience developing contractual arrangements with project delivery contractors.
* Recent hands-on experience in high-risk construction environments consistently achieving outstanding safety performance.
* A dynamic professional with sound organisational and communication skills with exceptional working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Base pay range: A$138,631.00/yr - A$185,518.00/yr
