Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
Job Description
As the Editor/Proofreader (Policy), you will work closely with our Health Policy Coordinators to refine, format, and quality‑assure a range of health policies and related documents. You will ensure all materials meet organisational standards, follow approved templates, and are ready for executive review.
Your work will help transform draft content into polished, publication‑ready documents that support informed decision‑making across the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, enjoys structuring complex information, and has experience working with clinical, scientific, or technical material.
What You'll Take the Lead On
* Edit, proofread, and format health policies and supporting documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
* Ensure all documents adhere to organisational templates, standards, and style guidelines.
* Collaborate with Health Policy Coordinators to strengthen document structure and messaging.
* Prepare policies for Senior Executive Manager (SEM) review, ensuring completeness and professional presentation.
* Incorporate SEM feedback and actions into updated drafts, addressing gaps in collaboration with Policy Coordinators.
* Review policies holistically to ensure logical flow, readability, coherence, and alignment with clinical governance requirements.
* Check that references, tables, appendices, and supporting evidence are correctly presented.
* Maintain document version control and support updates throughout the policy lifecycle.
* Identify opportunities to enhance templates, formatting processes, and document quality across the team.
Lets talk about you
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in editing, proofreading, and formatting, with strong written communication skills to clarify complex or technical information. Experience in editing clinical, scientific, or technical documents is highly desirable. Proficient in using document templates, styles, structure, and version control, with the ability to review content holistically to ensure accuracy, logical flow, and consistency. Highly collaborative, with experience working effectively alongside coordinators and senior stakeholders, and excellent time management and organisational skills to manage multiple documents and deadlines efficiently.
