Join Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia's leading independent law firm.
We are looking for a driven communications advisor to join our team, based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
In this role you will be working closely with the Director of Communications and other members of the communications team to manage and implement firm-wide strategic communications, with a focus on media relations and practice group content (including video) and external profiling.
**Key responsibilities**:
The external promotion of key practice groups and practice group leaders with a focus on media relations and insight-based content
Manage media relationships, developing strong relationships and maximising number of media opportunities
Prepare draft media releases, news stories, media mentions and various external communications, including recruitment materials
Assist in the delivery of other profile-raising initiatives such as award submissions and corporate sponsorships
Assisting with internal communications including identifying relevant stories for sharing within the firm, and re-purposing content for the intranet
Supporting the Director of Communications as required on key strategic communication priorities (internal and external communication)
**Required skills and experience**:
Excellent writer and highly effective communicator, with strong negotiation and influencing skills
Creative; with experience in developing and implementing multi-media content and initiatives (articles, reports, newsletters, blogs, video, webcasts, podcasts and a sophisticated range of visual materials)
Understanding of the media and established media relationships preferable
Educated to relevant tertiary degree level.
Proven experience within a communications role, either agency or in-house.
