We are now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead site operations and drive project performance on our upcoming works in the Mackay Region.
This is a key role working closely with the Project Manager and site teams to drive performance, contract compliance and project success.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising construction works, ensuring compliance with specifications, and providing engineering and technical support to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
You will play a critical role in contract administration, quality assurance, site coordination and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Engineering
· Support planning and daily programming of site works
· Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation
· Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements
· Identify and manage variations, delays and scope changes
· Assist with preparation of claims, contract notices and extensions of time
· Provide technical guidance to Supervisors and site teams
HSEQ & Quality
· Ensure compliance with HSEQ legislation and project requirements
· Assist in preparing SWMS and reviewing subcontractor documentation
· Complete daily quality inspections and checklists
· Investigate defects and non-conformances and implement corrective actions
· Develop and maintain Quality Management Plans (QMP) and ITPs
Contract & Commercial Administration
· Track subcontractor and supplier dockets
· Assist with claims and invoice reviews
· Monitor plant and material deliveries
· Maintain accurate records and site documentation
Reporting & Communication
· Prepare accurate and timely project reports
· Attend and minute site meetings
· Maintain detailed site diaries
· Liaise with clients, subcontractors and authorities
What We’re Looking For
· Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
· Proven experience in civil construction projects
· Strong understanding of contract administration and variations
· Sound knowledge of QA systems, ITPs and compliance requirements
· Excellent organisational and documentation skills
· Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
