About the Job
We have an exceptional opportunity for a savvy Estimator / Bid Co-ordinator to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality tender estimates and cost plans are developed for submission across our diverse project portfolio, including building, façade, defence, and remediation projects.
This role requires expertise in:
* Preparing, presenting, and delivering comprehensive tenders.
* Winning Australian Defence and related industry tenders and bids.
* Principal contracting environments.
* Securing remediation, building, and façade bids for specialised defence projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Bid Strategy & Management: Lead the end-to-end bid process across multiple concurrent opportunities, ensuring high‐quality, compliant, and compelling submissions.
* Coordinate bid kick‐off meetings: and regular check‐ins with internal stakeholders to align on win themes and key messaging.
* Collaborate closely: with senior leadership, technical teams, and delivery personnel to coordinate input and approvals.
* Content Development & Proposal Creation: Take ownership of proposal content including planning, writing, editing and formatting to ensure a consistent tone and alignment with client requirements.
* Develop tailored responses: by interpreting tender documentation and leveraging internal knowledge and stakeholder input.
* Prepare executive summaries, project profiles, case studies and other essential collateral.
* Process Improvement & Compliance: Refine bid templates and tools to improve efficiency and submission quality.
* Ensure compliance: with all tender requirements, including formatting, document control, and submission protocols.
* Conduct post‐submission reviews: to capture lessons learned and continuously improve our "Serendia Standard".
About You
* Skills: Demonstrated skills in securing Defence contracts, with proven understanding and knowledge of the estimation and bid requirements processes.
* Experience: Proven background in estimating for Defence, Construction or building remediation.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal skills with the confidence to lead meetings and engage senior stakeholders.
* Commercial Acumen: Strategic thinker with a strong financial mindset and high attention to detail.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office, Procore and MS Project is a plus.
* Agility: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt in fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environments.
* Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or equivalent.
