The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a pro-active and forward thinking individual to assist in the planning and management of the natural and man-made environment of the Bega Valley Shire; to assist and advise the Manager, Planning & Sustainability on planning objectives, policies and guidelines, having regard to community expectations and changing physical, social and economic demands.
As a Senior Town Planner, you will assess and determine complex development applications and prepare reports and advice relating to planning proposals. You will manage projects and consultancies, and research, prepare and evaluate environmental studies and planning instruments.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a degree-level qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) and a minimum 5 years' recent related work experience.
You will have the following skills and experience;
Ability to interpret and apply relevant environmental planning legislation, including:Environmental Planning and Assessment Act; State Environmental Planning Policies; Local Environmental Plans; circulars and relevant policies.Proficiency in policy formulation and and ability in assessing and making recommendations on a wide range of development level analytical and investigative skills including demographic, socio-economic and land use supply and demand.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $117,458.43 gross per annum, comprising of:
$2,016.80 per week base salary$242.02 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
