This is a newly created leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring the effective mobilisation, performance and compliance of our maintenance workforce.Roster: Monday to Friday with site visits requiredLocation: Byford WAThe RoleAs the Maintenance Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of FIFO maintenance operations, including workforce mobilisation, client coordination, subcontractor and labour hire management, compliance and operational performance.You will work closely with our recruitment, mobilisation and payroll teams to ensure labour requirements are met, rosters are optimised and client expectations are exceeded.
This is an off the tools role, focused on coordination, leadership and delivery across multiple sites and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day to day FIFO maintenance labour operations across multiple client sitesCoordinate workforce mobilisation including rosters, travel, accommodation and site accessEnsure trades and maintenance personnel are deployed in line with client schedules and project requirementsMonitor labour utilisation, job performance and delivery across FIFO projects and shutdownsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key FIFO and resource-sector clientsIdentify and support new labour hire and maintenance opportunities to drive business growthImplement and improve operational systems, processes and workforce practicesAllocate labour, equipment and subcontractors to maximise productivity and efficiencyReview labour costs, utilisation, time sheets and invoicing to ensure accurate cost recoveryLead, support and motivate FIFO maintenance personnel while promoting a strong safety cultureEnsure compliance with all clients, site, legislative and safety requirementsAbout YouYou will bring:Proven experience in maintenance operations within FIFO, labour hire or resource environmentsStrong trade or maintenance background with operational leadership experienceSound understanding of FIFO mobilisation, workforce compliance and site requirementsExperience managing multi-site workforcesStrong commercial awareness with experience in labour utilisation and cost controlExcellent planning, communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced FIFO environmentExperience with labour management or workforce systems (desirable)Previous exposure to mining, oil and gas or heavy industrial maintenanceWhat's On OfferSenior operational role in a growing businessOpportunity to influence operations, systems and growth strategySBS and Mechanical is an equal opportunity employer.
