Job Overview
The Specialist Pharmacist role is a critical position that provides expert clinical pharmacy leadership, services, and advice to ensure safe and contemporary pre-hospital care while adhering to regulatory requirements.
This role requires advanced level knowledge, expertise, and skills in clinical pharmacy practice, complex medication management, and relevant practice standards.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrated ability to apply professional judgement in providing clinical advice and direction where established principles require expansion or modification.
* Initiate, plan, and evaluate quality improvement initiatives and provide clinical advice to supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
* Provide professional development to staff through facilitation and evaluation of educational activities and support for practitioner development and supervision.
Mandatory Requirements
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Pharmacy Board of Australia).
* Certified copies of required information must be provided prior to commencement of clinical duties.
* A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy is highly regarded.
Vaccination Requirements
It is an express condition of employment for all people with direct patient contact to be vaccinated against infectious diseases including Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Influenza.
