An exciting career opportunity exists for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic IT Operations Administrator at our Geelong manufacturing site, Victoria. As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, and resolving hardware, software, and network related issues. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting desktop systems, applications, and peripherals along with delivering excellent customer service ensuring user satisfaction.
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables:
• Log, categorise, and prioritise incidents and service requests in the IT service management (ITSM) tool as required.
• Escalate to relevant teams when required.
• Function as a point of contact for phone calls coming into IT ServiceDesk.
• Adhere to set ticket service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor and follow up on open tickets to ensure timely updates, resolution, and user satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems (Microsoft, Apple), Office 365, and other business applications such as Business Central, DocuSign, and other new systems when assistance is required.
• Provide first line Business Central Support for the Geelong site.
• Perform hardware and software upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Configure & support desktops, laptops, and mobile devices for employees.
• Support network connectivity and remote access tools.
• Project work (as needed) for implementation and troubleshooting modern technologies and systems.
• IT Systems administration duties such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
• AD review and maintenance.
• Deal with third party suppliers for ordering and maintaining operational equipment.
• Develop documentation, training materials to support the use of technology.
• Anticipate potential technical issues and share your solutions and ideas.
• Train users and help them to use technology better. Give feedback to the Learning & Development team where necessary.
• Educate end-users on basic IT procedures and best practices.
• On call for emergency escalations (this component is reflected in your remuneration package).
Knowledge/Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
• Degree (optional).
• Minimum 2+ years in an IT Systems Administrator type role.
• IT Desktop and ServiceDesk experience.
• ITIL Foundation or similar (preferred).
• Business Central or other ERP system support (advantageous).
• Awareness of Project methodologies such as Prince 2.
• Excellent problem solving and well-developed analytical skills from end user compute, up to server infrastructure.
• Experienced with Active Directory (AD), Group Policy and other support tools.
• Proven experience with troubleshooting end user and server hardware, software, and network issues
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g. Manage Engine ServiceDesk Plus).
• Understanding of IT security principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Windows End User OS and Server OS, i-Devices, MS 365, and ability to learn modern technologies and applications quickly.
• Knowledge of M365 Cloud administration (SharePoint/Teams/EntraID), CheckPoint, Ubiquiti Networks or similar.
• Experience with remote support tools (e.g. TeamViewer).
• Assist in the management of IT assets, including inventory tracking and disposal of outdated equipment.
• Report and document security incidents or breaches.
• Ability to use initiative and work safely with a minimum of supervision, or effectively within a team environment.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain knowledge of new and emerging IT specific technologies.
• Patience and empathy when dealing with non-technical users.
