Overview
West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team on a 12-month fixed term contract (parental leave backfill) or on a casual basis. This role is based in the acute hospital setting within a multidisciplinary team.
Fixed Term Part Time, up to 48 hours per fortnight - September 2025 to September 2026 (parental leave backfill). Casual opportunities also available. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, a current NDIS worker screening clearance and a Working with Children Check, and entitlement to work in Australia. A six-month probationary period applies to all current appointments.
Remuneration: Allied Health Professionals OT Grade 2, $ to $ per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
Location: Warragul, West Gippsland, Victoria, with services across acute, subacute, Community Rehab, Aged Care, Paediatrics and outpatients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in the acute hospital setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to other clinical areas based on service needs.
- Collaborate within an established team of Grade 3, Grade 2 and Grade 1 Occupational Therapists, supported by Allied Health Assistants.
- Provide supervision and support to junior staff, assistants and students where appropriate.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy Board.
- Ability to apply a high level of clinical knowledge and skills in occupational therapy practice.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Acute hospital experience.
Important notes
Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
