Senior Consultant – Internal Audit (Process & Controls)
Location: Meanjin – Brisbane, Australia. Hybrid role with flexible options.
The Opportunity
Work with top‐tier clients to address their biggest risks through forward‐looking, technology‐enabled internal audit, focusing on people, process and purpose to drive long‐term value.
Key Responsibilities
* Work on multiple client engagement teams across various sectors.
* Help clients identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve process efficiency, effectiveness and business performance.
* Evaluate the cost‐effectiveness and risks of operational processes, activities, policies and systems.
* Leverage innovative tools and AI to evaluate the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes, controls, activities, policies and systems.
* Assist clients with establishing audit objectives, and designing and implementing audit methodologies, processes and audit report criteria.
* Conduct audits and investigations and prepare financial statements and reports.
* Attend meetings and report on the existence and effectiveness of the system of internal controls.
Skills & Attributes for Success
* Strong understanding of key business processes, risks and controls.
* Experience in using key internal auditing techniques such as process walkthroughs, risk analysis, control identification and assessment and testing of operating effectiveness.
* Ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business, supporting them and promoting a collaborative culture.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ability to build relationships with clients to better understand their businesses and provide relevant insights.
* Structured approach to project management and documentation, and a demonstrated understanding of risk‐based internal audit methodologies.
* Experience working as an Internal Auditor in a blue‐chip, government or professional services organisation.
