About the Role
You'll play a lead role in precontracts across major civil infrastructure projects, supporting the strategic direction of the business and working closely with senior stakeholders across delivery, commercial and engineering.
* Manage end-to-end estimating for complex civil infrastructure projects including defence, roads, bridges, bulk earthworks and utilities
* Build detailed first principles estimates
* Lead bid strategy discussions with senior leadership and provide accurate and timely cost advice
* Liaise with engineering teams to review technical inputs and ensure buildability and cost efficiency
* Conduct market analysis and engage with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
* Prepare and present tender submissions, cost reports, and risk registers for internal review
* Provide mentoring and support to junior estimators
About You
You're a commercially astute civil professional with the ability to operate across both the technical and strategic sides of estimating. You might already be an established Estimator or be working in project delivery and ready to step into a more commercial role.
* Proven experience in civil construction across infrastructure sectors such as roads, structures, transport, or utilities
* Strong understanding of first principles estimating and tendering processes
* Able to interpret drawings, technical specs, and project documentation with confidence
* Comfortable preparing detailed cost breakdowns and clearly communicating commercial risks and opportunities
* Experience engaging with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop accurate pricing
* Background in either precontracts or project delivery
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate in a fast‐paced, high‐stakes environment
* Open to relocation and excited by the opportunity to take on more ownership and influence
