Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Role Overview
This is an opportunity to lead a team of skilled tradespeople in commissioning, operations and ongoing maintenance. The role ensures plant reliability, safe work execution and effective coordination of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a team of mechanical fitters and maintenance crew members.
* Oversee the preventative and corrective maintenance of pumps, crushers, conveyors, rotating equipment and other fixed plant assets.
* Plan, schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks to support safe and reliable plant operation.
* Manage unplanned breakdowns and coordinate responses with operations staff.
* Interpret engineering drawings, maintenance plans and OEM documentation.
* Promote and enforce safe work practices, including conducting toolbox meetings and ongoing safety leadership.
* Coordinate contractor activities and ensure compliance with site standards.
* Conduct regular inspections, identify areas for improvement and support root-cause analysis.
* Mentor and develop maintenance team members to enhance their skills and performance.
* Assist with commissioning activities to safely bring equipment and circuits online.
* Familiarity with jaw and cone crushers is highly regarded.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Australian recognised Mechanical trade qualification is essential.
* Supervisory or leading hand experience in mining or processing environments is preferred.
* Strong gold or minerals processing fixed plant experience is highly valued.
* A valid manual WA driver's licence is required.
* The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen and police clearance is necessary.
* A strong commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organised work area is expected.
* Effective communication, organisation and leadership skills are crucial.
* Franna, EWP, WAH and CSE tickets are highly regarded.
* Full Australian working rights are required.
* The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively is essential.
