We are seeking a highly skilled Feed Mill Manager to join our team at Stockyard, Australia's most awarded beef brand.
About the Role
As Feed Mill Manager, you will lead the feeding and milling team to produce and deliver high-quality processed feed. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Reporting directly to the Feedlot Manager and working closely with our Livestock, Maintenance and Office teams
* Leading the feeding and milling team to achieve quality and production targets
* Managing daily Bunk Call reading and supervising Feeding Operators
* Ensuring shed hygiene and tidiness and maintenance of bunks
* Managing inventory in accordance with agreed targets and monitoring ingredient quality and consistency
* Liaising with the Company Nutritionist regarding livestock intake and weight gain
* Liaising with the Livestock Manager regarding condition and welfare of stock
* Assisting the Feedlot Manager to develop, review and recommend policies and programs
* Ensuring maintenance and monitoring records are kept up to date for plant and machinery
You will be responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of all plant and equipment, buildings and infrastructure allocated to the Feed Mill Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our business.
About You
* Previous milling experience
* Feed allocation and feeding experience would be an advantage
* A good understanding of feedlot feeding and inventory software programs (Elynx or similar)
* Leadership and governance ability
* Problem solving, planning and organisational skills
* Attention to detail and time management
* Advanced communication and relationship building skills
* A high level of WHS understanding
