Position Overview
Full time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Ongoing – Goldfields Region Health Service.
We are seeking a Community Liaison Officer to facilitate the delivery of suicide prevention education and interventions, and coordinate postvention efforts. The role will provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities throughout the Goldfields Region. This position does not include direct service functions to individuals.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate the delivery of suicide prevention education and interventions.
* Coordinate postvention efforts and support for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Support training across the Goldfields Region.
Qualifications & Experience
* Cert IV in ATSI primary health, mental health, community services, and/or training and assessment, or equivalent training and experience. Enrolled students in any of these fields are also eligible.
* Experience working with ATSI people and families in communities, especially during grief, loss, and suicide prevention.
* Strong knowledge and awareness of Aboriginal culture, history, and current issues affecting Aboriginal people.
* Aboriginality is an essential criterion, provided for in accordance with section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
* Willingness to facilitate and support training across the Goldfields region.
