UGL is expanding its Telecommunications team and seeking a HSE Advisor to support newly awarded contracts with nbn and Vocus focused on the construction of telecommunications shelter buildings and wireless infrastructure, offering the opportunity to work across diverse civil environments.
This role is ideal for a safety professional with strong field experience, and a proactive approach to environmental and emergency risk management with knowledge of high-risk activities such as crane operations, rigging, working at heights, and civil works.
Location Flexibility
With works spread nationally this position can be based anywhere in the eastern states, ideally close to a major airport, due to frequent travel to regional and remote sites across Australia.
What you'll be doing
* Implement and maintain UGL's HSE Management System across national projects.
* Lead site inspections, audits, and contractor onboarding.
* Develop and review environmental management plans and controls.
* Investigate incidents using ICAM methodology and manage corrective actions.
* Support emergency preparedness for remote locations.
* Mentor operational teams and promote the One HSE Culture Framework.
About You
You're a confident, mobile HSE professional with experience in high-risk and remote environments. You bring:
* A Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
* 5+ years' experience in high-risk industries (telecommunications, civil, construction).
* Strong understanding of risks related to cranes, rigging, working at heights, and remote work.
* Experience with environmental controls and emergency planning for isolated sites.
* ICAM and auditing competencies (highly regarded).
* Construction White Card and Australian C class driver's license.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
