Land Outcomes Coordinator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Outcomes Coordinator to join our team in Cairns. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and their representatives to deliver Indigenous Land Use Agreements and land transfers under the Aboriginal Land Act 1991 and Torres Strait Islander Land Act 1991.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Land Outcomes Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating administrative and statutory work underpinning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Researching land tenure and interpreting legislation
* Preparing reports and maps
* Coordinating documentation required for land transfers and agreements
* Managing the administrative processes that set projects up for success
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Strong experience managing complex administrative, legislative or policy-based processes within a land, legal or government setting
* The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy
* Understanding of, or experience working with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with demonstrated awareness of cultural protocols and community sensitivities
* Strong organisational, analytical and research skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Knowledge or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of systems such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint and land databases (e.g. ATS, QLD Globe)
