Role Description
Canonical is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the development of our automotive and industrial solutions.
* Defining and executing an engineering roadmap for the automotive team at Canonical
* Representing Ubuntu and Canonical in the automotive community, in front of customers, partners, and consortia
* Building and leading a globally distributed team of engineers and coordinating their work
* Developing skills through coaching, feedback, and hands-on technical leadership
* Setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
Key qualifications include:
* Strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background
* Knowledge of automotive and industry standards such as ISO21434, ISO26262, SOTIF, IEC 65108
* Experience in C/C++ and Python programming
* Practical experience in automotive, including functional safety, embedded systems, cloud, and related software trends
* Experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers
