What you will do As freedom of information officer, you will process requests for access to departmental documents. You will support fair decisions, clear advice and timely service across the department. You will: * process freedom of information requests across a wide range of subject areas * support the handling of complex requests and meet strict legal timeframes * make decisions as a delegate of the Secretary on access to documents * give clear advice to staff and the public about freedom of information procedures * take part in important project work and training delivery. About you You should have experience interpreting legislation. You should also have, or be able to quickly gain, knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982. You should also have: * strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement * the ability to communicate clearly with different audiences * a calm and flexible approach when priorities change * the confidence to build positive working relationships and handle difficult conversations.
