Senior Interior Designer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interior Designer to join our team in Canberra.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to utilise their skills and expertise to deliver high-quality interior design services to our clients.
* Deliver interior architecture and design services to clients, particularly for property and building projects.
* Work with other business groups to develop client relationships and secure interior design-related projects in the ACT and Southern NSW market.
* Assist in submitting registrations of interest and proposals.
* Assist the Business Group Leader to achieve financial targets with respect to new work, invoicing, and chargeable time.
* Build effective relationships with other business groups to develop innovative solutions to client requirements.
Responsibilities
The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for:
* Formulating preliminary space plans and two- and three-dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate client program needs and are based on knowledge of interior architecture and design principles.
* Confirming that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements.
* Selecting colours, materials, and finishes to convey the design concept and meet functional, maintenance, life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements.
* Preparing construction documents consisting of plans, elevations, details, and specifications to illustrate partition layouts, power and communications locations, reflected ceiling plans, lighting designs, materials, and furniture layouts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree qualification in a relevant profession; interior architecture advantageous.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural firms or interior design studios.
* Strong leadership skills fostering team development and encouraging a collaborative studio environment.
* Previous experience leading and managing a small team desirable.
* Appreciation and/or experience in project scope definition and resource planning as well as scheduling and management of workload for interior design team.
* Excellent verbal and graphic presentation skills.
* Solid working knowledge and understanding of Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
* Solid specification and contract writing skills related to architectural practice.
* Proficient in use and application of AutoCAD and Revit.
