ABOUT THE ROLE:
· Permanent full-time 40h/week (pro-rata flexibility available).
· Based in Fyshwick with travel to sites around the Canberra region.
· Whether you're an experienced technician, a tradesperson, or a building science graduate, we'll shape this role to suit your experience.
Responsibilities:
1. General:
* Develop and improve work procedures for consistently high quality.
* Proactively seek feedback and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
* Contribute to shared duties.
* Assist the team with general site work.
* Work safely, with a mind to ensuring the safety of yourself and everyone around you.
2. Install and Maintain Energy Recovery Ventilation Systems:
* Deliver system components to site.
* Install ceiling ducting in new-builds from a ladder (prior to sheeting).
* Install and commission ventilation units.
* Service installed ventilation units.
* Collaborate with design and sales team to implement and improve system design.
* Coordinate with builders and follow-on trades.
3. Service Window Mechanisms:
* Commission new window installations.
* Diagnose potential issues in existing installations.
* Adjust window mechanisms.
4. Warehousing:
* Organise stock and maintain equipment.
* Assist the team with stocktaking, ordering, receipt and dispatch.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
* Strong hands-on practical skills with hand and power tools,
* Strong analytical and diagnostic skills,
* Strong organisational skills,
* Commitment to safety and quality,
* A drive to learn and improve, and
* A friendly, approachable, helpful demeanour.
Desirable:
* Experience in the building and construction sector.
* Knowledge of passive house principles and construction methodologies.
