About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced
Construction Manager
to oversee the successful delivery of medium-density and detached housing projects across multiple estates in Queensland. This role is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a team of Site Supervisors, collaborate with internal teams and external trade partners, and play a key role in maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple concurrent builds, ensuring consistent quality, timelines, and compliance.
Implement and monitor construction schedules to meet monthly and quarterly handover targets.
Review and approve construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and buildability.
Manage suppliers and trades to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
Conduct site audits, quality assurance checks, and manage defect rectification processes.
Lead initiatives to reduce build cycle times while maintaining high standards.
Maintain accurate reporting on project progress, costs, and risks for senior management.
Mentor and develop Site Supervisors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Queensland WHS legislation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, and other stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in residential construction, preferably with a volume builder.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and subcontractor relationships.
Track record of managing budgets, timelines, and quality across multiple builds.
Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Licensing & Qualifications:
QBCC Builder's Licence (essential)
Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) or equivalent (recommended)
Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge:
Queensland Building Code and Australian Standards
Work Health and Safety Act & relevant Codes of Practice
Environmental compliance including waste management and erosion control
QBCC home warranty insurance obligations
