The Company: Our client is a well-established marine and civil maintenance contractor delivering infrastructure maintenance, remediation, and asset preservation works across ports, wharves, and coastal environments. The business partners with government agencies, asset owners, and major contractors to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable maintenance solutions that extend the life of critical marine and civil infrastructure. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an HSE Coordinator to support project teams and drive strong health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes across multiple project sites. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, leading safety initiatives on site, and ensuring compliance with WHS and environmental legislation. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for: Health, Safety & Environment : support and promote a strong ‘Zero Harm’ culture across all project activities; monitor compliance with WHS legislation, environmental requirements and company systems HSE Systems & Compliance: develop, implement and maintain HSE management systems across marine and civil maintenance works Site Audits & Risk Management: conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments (JSA/SWMS) to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls Incident Management: lead incident investigations and prepare reports, corrective actions and preventative measures Training & Engagement: deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety training to support continuous improvement in safety performance Stakeholder Liaison: work closely with project managers, supervisors, clients and regulators on HSE matters Subcontractor Management: monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with project requirements Environmental & Quality Performance: support initiatives that improve environmental management and project quality outcomes Health Monitoring: manage and coordinate the organisation’s health monitoring program About You: You are a proactive and detail-oriented safety professional who enjoys working closely with site teams and leading practical safety improvements across projects.
